The renowned publisher has secured a seasoned producer from Respawn Entertainment to oversee the development team at their internal studio, which is currently working on the forthcoming third-person roguelike extraction-shooter known as Project Ethos.
Brinkman takes on the leadership position at 31st Union following the departure of previous head the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was reportedly let go due to Project Ethos' disappointing unveiling last autumn.
Recently, 2K president a key figure updated team members about this organizational change through an official communication, which emphasized that early feedback sessions had indicated the necessity for a distinct direction.
The president stated that the team is now overhauling the project with a refreshed focus, aiming to satisfy community desires.
The news echoes a similar action taken by the publisher in August, when they hired Rod Fergusson from Blizzard to assist with the beloved franchise development group.
